I survived getting married @ 22. 60% of couples married before they are 25 end in divorce. I know that sounds crazy because every girl dreams of being married right? For me the answer was easy...Yes, but when you’re young so many obstacles are thrown your way. Imagine being young and married when you are still finding yourself. Try having unconditional love and respect for your mate while all of your friends are out having a good time with no one to answer to. There were plenty of times I wanted to give up but I kept pushing because my marriage is more important than anything I thought I may have been missing out on in my 20’s. Surviving isn’t only making it through but growing from it so that you can teach others how to survive.
Plenty of times I could have given up!
I am currently a mathematics teacher in the heart of Chicago. I truly enjoy working with young people. They have a way of putting a smile on your face after they have already got on your nerves. So from what I hear from family and friends “I am strong”. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer on January 18, 2017. I was just minding my business at 31 years old and drinking plenty of water. I had to do 6 rounds of chemotherapy and two surgeries. December 2019 I had another life changing experience. I was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. I was hospitalized for 12 days. I have been fighting. Chemotherapy every 3 weeks and staying on top of my health during this pandemic. It’s been hard however I’m fighter and happy to say I beat this thing again with the help of God!
